 "한국에서 포켓몬 고 인기는 정말 다시 봐도 놀랍네"
 나이언틱은 '포켓몬 고'의 연례 대규모 글로벌 이벤트 '포켓몬 고 투어: 칼로스지방 – 글로벌'을 기념해 2월 28일부터 3월 1일까지 양일간 서울에서 특별 현장 이벤트를 개최한다. 행사 시간은 오전 10시부터 오후 6시까지다.
 이번 이벤트는 서울 종로구 송현동에 위치한 열린송현 녹지광장(서울 종로구 송현동 48-9)을 메인 스팟으로, 서울 중구 장충단로13길 20에 자리한 현대아울렛 동대문점을 서브 스팟으로 운영한다.
 서울 도심 한가운데서 펼쳐지는 이번 현장 이벤트는 전 세계 트레이너들과 함께하는 'Go Tour'의 열기를 오프라인에서도 생생하게 체험할 수 있도록 기획됐다. 
 나이언틱 관계자는 "포켓몬 고 투어: 칼로스지방 – 글로벌은 포켓몬 고의 전 세계 트레이너들이 함께 참여하는 대표적인 글로벌 이벤트"라며 "서울에서 열리는 이번 특별 현장 이벤트로 트레이너들이 서로 소통하고 새로운 즐거움을 경험할 수 있는 자리가 됐으면 한다. 많은 분들이 서울의 중심에서 포켓몬 고의 생생한 열기를 함께 느껴보길 바란다"고 전했다.
 28일 오전 10시 30분경 현장에 도착하니 이미 수많은 트레이너들이 녹지광장을 가득 메웠다. 혼자서 포켓몬을 잡기 위해 온 방문객도 많았지만 가족, 커플, 지인, 단체 단위 방문객들이 대다수였다. 외국인 방문객도 눈을 돌리는 곳마다 발견할 수 있었다.
 메인 허브인 열린송현 녹지광장 현장에는 트레이너들을 위한 교류 중심 공간이 조성됐다. 유저 간 자유로운 소통이 가능한 '커뮤니티 허브'에서는 행사 가이드 리플릿을 무료로 배포하며, '트레이딩 존'에서는 게시판을 통해 원하는 포켓몬과 교환 가능한 포켓몬을 공유하고 자유롭게 교환할 수 있다.
 또한 '배틀&amp;레이드 존'에서는 트레이너 배틀과 협동 레이드 배틀을 즐길 수 있으며, "What's Your Favorite" 포토존에서는 포토월을 배경으로 기념 사진을 남길 수 있다.

 서브 스팟인 현대아울렛 동대문점은 신규 및 복귀 유저를 위한 체험 중심 공간으로 운영된다. '튜토리얼 존'에서는 스태프의 안내에 따라 게임의 기초 플레이 방법을 배울 수 있고, '플레이 존'에서는 자유롭게 게임을 즐기며 필요한 도움을 받을 수 있다. 
 현장에는 참여형 미션이 다양하게 마련됐다. 열린송현 녹지광장에서는 레이드 배틀 참여 후 스탬프 인증 시 '마그넷'을 증정하며, 공식 인스타그램 팔로우 및 게시물 또는 스토리 업로드 시 '우표 스티커'를 받을 수 있다. "What's Your Favorite" 기능으로 사진을 촬영하면 엽서를 증정하고, QR코드를 통해 설문조사에 참여하면 '피카츄 인형' 응모 기회가 주어진다. 현대아울렛 동대문점 역시 레이드 배틀 참여 미션과 SNS 팔로우 미션, 튜토리얼 완료 및 플레이 인증 미션, 설문조사 참여 미션 등을 통해 다양한 경품을 제공한다.
 만날 수 있는 포켓몬도 한층 강화됐다. 이번 포켓몬 고 투어: 칼로스지방 – 글로벌을 맞아 메가진화 포켓몬 '메가우츠보트'와 '메가칼라마네로'가 최초로 등장했다. 트레이너들은 2월 28일 '메가우츠보트', 3월 1일 '메가칼라마네로'가 등장하는 메가 레이드에 도전할 수 있다. 또한 새롭게 추가된 슈퍼 메가 레이드에서는 '메가우츠보트', '메가칼라마네로'와 함께 강력한 포켓몬 '메가망나뇽'도 등장해 도전 욕구를 자극했다.

 레이드 현장에 참여하면 포켓몬을 잡은 시기가 기록된 기념 배경이나 '포켓몬스터 X', '포켓몬스터 Y' 및 메가진화를 모티브로 한 스페셜 배경을 획득할 수 있다. 이와 함께 2월 23일부터 27일까지 매일 다른 지방을 테마로 한 사전 이벤트 '칼로스로의 길'이 진행되며, 메가진화 모티브의 스페셜 배경이 적용된 '루카리오'와 'GO Tour 2026 티셔츠' 등 다양한 리워드를 제공하는 신규 'GO패스'도 도입됐다.
 서울 도심 두 곳에서 펼쳐지는 이번 오프라인 이벤트는 글로벌 게임 축제의 분위기를 현장에서 직접 체험할 수 있는 자리로, 기존 트레이너는 물론 신규 유저까지 폭넓게 아우르는 축제의 장이었다.
 8세 아들과 함께 온 아버지는 "가족 전체가 포켓몬 고를 즐긴지 4년 정도 됐다. 포켓몬 고 오프라인 행사는 자주 오는 편이다. 날씨가 좋아서 다행이다. 이렇게 많은 사람들을 보니까 새삼 포켓몬의 인기가 대단하다고 느낀다. 아들은 포켓몬 고로 친구가 많이 생겼는데 여기서도 많이 사귀고 갈 것 같다. 재밌게 놀 수 있는 이벤트를 열어줘서 감사하다"고 전했다.
