 라이엇게임즈가 인기 FPS 게임 '발로란트'의 2026 시즌 대규모 업데이트인 'V26' 출시를 기념하여 서울 성동구 성수동에 특별 팝업스토어를 마련하였다.
 신규 시즌의 서막을 알리는 'V26 시즌 스타트'를 주제로 기획된 이번 행사는 게임 내 세계관을 오프라인 공간에 생생하게 구현해냈다.
 행사 첫날, 영하의 추위와 매서운 칼바람이 부는 날씨에도 불구하고 현장은 오전 10시 입장 전부터 대기하는 관람객들로 인산인해를 이루며 발로란트를 향한 유저들의 뜨거운 애정을 증명하였다.
 특히 평일 오전 시간임에도 불구하고 친구 혹은 부모님과 함께 현장을 찾은 어린 팬들의 모습이 눈에 띄었다. 이는 PC방 대세 게임으로 자리 잡은 발로란트의 인기를 실감케 하는 대목이다.
 현장에서 만난 한 학생은 "친구들이 모두 발로란트를 즐기기에 자연스럽게 시작하게 되었으며, 이제는 스스로도 V26 시즌을 고대할 만큼 몰입하고 있다"라고 소감을 전했다.

 또 다른 학생 역시 "발로란트가 현재 또래에서 가장 인기 있는 게임"이라고 말하며 "머리 아프게 공부할 것도 없고, 학원과 학원 사이에 한 두판 즐기기에도 좋아서 많이들 하는 것 같다. PC방 오면 '로블록스'아니면 발로란트를 하게 되는 것 같다"고 밝혔다.
 팝업 내부로 입장하면 2026 시즌을 앞둔 VCT 팀들의 유니폼과 번들, 그리고 킥오프 일정 등을 한눈에 확인할 수 있다. 특히 팀 번들의 인게임 실착 모션을 미리 확인할 수 있는 공간이 마련되어 구매를 고려하는 팬들에게 유용한 정보를 제공하며, 한쪽 벽면은 응원하는 팀에게 메시지를 남길 수 있는 소통의 장으로 꾸며졌다.
 전시 구역은 '알파 지구'와 '오메가 지구'의 대립을 시각화하였으며, 신규 보조 무기 '밴딧'과 일본 설화 기반의 '아야카시' 스킨 실물 컬렉션을 전시하여 볼거리를 더했다.

 지난 5주년 팝업의 명성을 잇는 다채로운 참여형 프로그램도 눈길을 끈다. 방문객들은 단계별 미션을 수행하여 한정판 기념품을 획득할 수 있으며, 일일 선착순 400명에게는 개인의 포부를 각인할 수 있는 '커스텀 키링' 제작 기회가 주어진다.
 라이엇 스토어에서는 피규어, 티셔츠, 장패드 등 다양한 굿즈 판매와 함께 7만 원 이상 구매 고객을 대상으로 특별 플레이어 카드 세트를 증정하는 등 오프라인 행사만의 차별화된 혜택을 제공하고 있다.
 한편, 다가오는 주말에는 유명 인플루언서 및 프로게이머가 참여하는 '크리에이터 데이'가 예정되어 열기를 이어간다. 마닥개, T1 '카르페' 이재혁을 비롯해 젠지 '텍스쳐' 김나라, 구칠이, 김된모, 저라뎃 등 화려한 라인업의 출연진이 현장을 방문해 이벤트 매치와 팬 사인회를 진행할 계획이다.
