 잠실에서 열린 포켓몬 타운 2025는 평일인데도 가족 단위 방문객의 활기로 가득했다.
 포켓몬코리아가 25일부터 5월 18일까지 잠실 롯데월드몰 및 월드파크 일대에서 '포켓몬 타운 2025 with 롯데(이하 포켓몬 타운)를 개최했다.
 포켓몬 타운은 작년 진행했던 포켓몬 타운 2024의 업그레이드 버전이다. 포켓몬코리아에서 올해 초부터 활발히 추진 중인 '메타몽 프로젝트'와 연계해 포켓몬 전시와 체험 등 다채로운 이벤트를 진행한다.
 한국 최초 변신 포켓몬 메타몽을 주인공으로 삼아 실내외 곳곳에서 메타몽을 만날 수 있는 전시가 열린다. 작년 석촌 호수에 놀러 왔던 피카츄와 라프라스를 부러워 해 변신하는 꿈을 꾸는 메타몽을 테마로 삼아, 지금껏 본 적 없는 다양한 표정과 포즈의 메타몽들이 등장한다.

 롯데월드타워 야외 잔디광장은 그야말로 메타몽 천국이었다. 메타몽 대량발생이라는 콘셉트에 맞게 곳곳에 메타몽이 배치됐으며, 다양한 체험 이벤트가 관람객을 반겼다. 현장에는 귀여운 메타몽 주제곡이 흘러 한껏 신나는 분위기였다.
 남녀노소 불문하고 인기 있는 포켓몬답게 아이를 동반한 가족 단위 관람객이 굉장히 많았다. 포켓몬 카드 형식의 포토 스팟이나 메타몽 대량발생몽 등 인기 있는 포토존에는 사진을 찍기 위한 긴 줄이 만들어질 정도였다.
 포토존이나 전시 뿐만 아니라 간단한 캐치 이벤트를 통해 도넛과 아메리카노를 받고, 현장 체험 이벤트에 참여하면 메타몽과 변신 피카츄 썬캡, 메타몽 스티커 등 굿즈를 보상으로 받을 수 있다. 특히 스탬프 랠리 보상인 '메타몽' 포켓몬 카드가 굉장히 잘 나왔다.

 매시 정각마다 3분 동안 포켓몬 고 메타몽 대량발생 이벤트가 진행됐다. 포켓스톱 근처에 앉아 있는 사람들은 전부 핸드폰을 들여다보고 있었다.
 메타몽은 다른 포켓몬으로 변신해 평소 잡기 어려운 데다 대량 발생이라 색이 다른 포켓몬 등장 확률도 상승해서 그런 것 같다. 3분이 지나면 싹 바글바글하던 메타몽이 싹 사라지는 풍경을 볼 수 있었다.
 롯데월드몰의 팝업 스토어는 그야말로 인산인해였다. 캡슐 토이존도 사람으로 넘쳐 흘렀다. 과연 포켓몬 IP 라는 생각이 들 정도였다. 한국 포켓몬 타운에서 최초로 판매하는 굿즈들도 있다보니 외국인들도 굉장히 많았다.
 메타몽으로 가득한 포켓몬 타운 2025 현장을 게임톡이 사진으로 담아봤다. 해당 기간 동안 잠실 인근을 방문할 일이 있다면 꼭 들러보길 바란다.
